Silicon carbide (SiC) is commonly known as emery or refractory sand. Carbon atoms and silicon atoms are linked by covalent bonds. Its structure is similar to diamond, so it has the characteristics of high hardness, high temperature resistance, and high temperature oxidation resistance.

The higher the fineness and activity of alumina powder, the greater the content of sintering aids in the green body, and the lower the sintering temperature of alumina ceramics. Under the same molding pressure, the strength of the sample formed by isostatic pressing is 60~80% higher than that of the sample formed by compression molding at different temperatures, but there is no obvious difference in the densification degree of the sample. Experiments show that the molding conditions of alumina ceramic crucible are: isostatic pressing at 50~100MPa. At a lower firing temperature, the densification of the green body can be promoted by extending the holding time. However, at a higher firing temperature, it is not advisable to hold the body for a long time, otherwise the rapid growth of the grains will be detrimental to densification. change. Controlling the temperature rise rate during sintering of alumina ceramics is beneficial to the densification of alumina ceramics.
