Characteristics of Isostatic Graphite Materials

DESCRIPTION

Characteristics of isostatic graphite materials

(1) Isotropic

In general, materials with an isotropic degree of 1.0 to 1.1 are called isotropic materials. The use of isostatic pressing results in an isotropy of statically pressed graphite in the range of 1.0 to 1.1. The isotropy of isotropic graphite is affected by factors such as heat treatment process, isotropy of powder particles, and molding process.

During the heat treatment process of isotropic graphite, the heat is gradually transferred from the outside to the inside, and the temperature gradually decreases from the outside to the inside. The single external temperature shape is better than the internal temperature shape, and the isotropy is better than the inside.

The microcrystalline structure formed after graphitization of the binder pitch has little effect on the isotropy of the graphite block. If the isotropy of the powder particles is good, it can reach isotropy even after molding, and graphite has good isotropy.

Inhomogeneous mixing of binder pitch and powder during molding can also affect the isotropy of isotropic graphite.

(2) Large volume and fine structure

Compression molding cannot produce carbon products with large size and fine structure. Isostatic pressing overcomes some disadvantages of uneven bulk density of compression molding, greatly reduces the possibility of product cracking, and makes the production of large-scale and microstructure products a reality.

(3) Uniformity

The internal structure of isostatic graphite is relatively uniform, and there is no significant difference in the volume density, resistivity and strength of each part, which can be regarded as a homogeneous graphite material. The homogeneity of statically pressed graphite is determined by isostatic pressing. When using isostatic pressing, the pressure presses along.
