Features of isostatic pressing technology
(1) The density of isostatic pressing products is high, generally 5%-15% higher than that of unidirectional and bidirectional molding, and the relative density of hot isostatic pressing products can reach 99.80%-99.99%.
(2) The density of the compact is uniform. Compression molding, whether unidirectional or bidirectional, results in uneven density distribution in the compact. When pressing products with complex shapes, this density change can often reach more than 10%. This is due to the frictional resistance between the powder and the mold. A hydrostatic fluid medium transmits equal pressure in all directions. The compression of the sheath and the powder is almost the same, there is no relative movement between the powder and the sheath, the frictional resistance between them is small, the pressure drop is very small, and the density drop gradient is generally less than 1%. Therefore, the blank is considered to have a uniform bulk density.
(3) Due to the uniform density, there is no restriction on the length-to-diameter ratio, which is conducive to the production of slender products such as rods and pipes.
(4) The isostatic pressing process usually does not need to add lubricants to the powder, which not only reduces the pollution to the product, but also simplifies the manufacturing process.
(5) The products formed by isostatic pressing have excellent performance, short production cycle and wide application range.
(6) The disadvantage of isostatic pressing is low process efficiency and expensive equipment.
Production characteristics of isostatic graphite
The forming methods of carbon products mainly include compression forming, vibration forming, extrusion forming and isostatic pressing forming. The molding method of static pressure graphite is isostatic pressing. The working procedure of isostatic pressing is to put the powder to be formed into the elastic mold, close the mold mouth, put it into a high-pressure container filled with liquid or gas, then close the high-pressure cylinder mouth, and then push it into the frame. Inject liquid or gas medium into the elastic mold through a fairly high-pressure pump, pressurize the elastic mold uniformly from all directions, and make the powder in the mold densely piled up towards the center.
At present, the main production method of isostatic graphite is cold isostatic pressing, and a small amount is hot isostatic pressing. The raw material of hot isostatic pressing is mainly cold compact, and the production of a small amount of compressed powder isostatic graphite is mainly affected by equipment, pressure medium, mold, and process parameters, which are all reflected in the receiving material.
(1) Since pressurization is carried out with liquid or gas, the molding pressure is high and large products can be pressed. Compressed powders are sealed in rubber, plastic, glass or metal molds and placed in a liquid or gas under pressure. In the case of uniform pressure, the surface of the product shrinks proportionally, and the density of the compact increases. The molding pressure is high, the current working pressure is as high as 1050Mpa, the compressive strength is high, and it can press large-scale products.
(2) By controlling arbitrary pressure holding time and pressure release speed, the elastic aftereffect of the product after pressure release is small, and the suppression of ultra-fine structure products is realized, because its elasticity is invisible. The consequences were dire and the parison cracked.
(3) The molded product can be stamped, the shape of the mold can be changed, and it can be directly pressed into a special-shaped blank.
