DESCRIPTION

Dry-bag Isostatic Pressing Molds and Wet-bag Isostatic Pressing Molds

Because cold isostatic pressing technology can improve product performance, improve product quality, and increase economic benefits, it has many compelling advantages compared with other molding processes. Therefore, the application field continues to expand and the technology is becoming more and more mature. Up to now, the product category using isostatic pressing technology has reached hundreds of varieties. In recent decades, it has been widely used in industrial sectors such as powder metallurgy, graphite, ceramics, plastics, refractory materials, and hard alloys. Cold isostatic pressing technology is not only used in the molding of various powder products under uniform ultra-high pressure in all directions, but also in biopharmaceutical fields such as high-pressure sterilization of food, extraction of drugs, and protein activation.

Wet (wet bag method) isostatic pressing: Encapsulate the blank (or pre-pressed in advance) in an elastic plastic or rubber mold, seal it and put it into a high-pressure cylinder, and press the blank into shape through liquid transfer. This method can change the shape and size of the plastic sheath, and the product has great flexibility, which is suitable for small-scale production. However, manual bagging and unloading operations are required every time, and the production efficiency is not high. This method is mainly used for the production of large and special-shaped parts.

Dry (dry bag method) isostatic pressing: The elastic mold is semi-fixed, not soaked in the liquid medium, but sealed by the upper and lower pistons. The pressure pump injects the liquid medium between the high-pressure cylinder and the pressurized rubber, and the pressure is transmitted through the liquid and the pressurized rubber to form the green body under pressure. This method can be operated continuously, that is, the upper cover of the mold is opened, the material is loaded, and then the upper cover is closed for press molding. When the material is discharged, the upper cover is opened, and the compact is pushed out from the upper side through the ejector rod at the bottom. The operation period is short, suitable for mass production. At present, this method is used for continuous industrial production of daily-use porcelain plates, dish products, and medium-sized alumina grinding balls.
