Cold isostatic pressing can be divided into two types: wet bag cold isostatic pressing and dry bag cold isostatic pressing.

(1) Wet bag method cold isostatic press. It consists of elastic mold, high pressure container, top cover and frame, etc. This method suspends the mold in the liquid, also known as the floating mold method. Several moulds can be placed in the high pressure vessel at the same time.

(2) Dry bag method cold isostatic pressing machine. It consists of a pressure punch, a high-pressure container, an elastic die, a limiter, a top brick, etc. This method fixes the elastic mold in the high pressure container and uses the limiter to position it, so it is also called the fixed mold method. During operation, lift the punch to load the powder into the mold, and use the pressure punch to close the upper opening after the material is loaded. During pressurization, the liquid medium is injected between the inner wall of the cylinder and the outer surface of the mold, and the mold is pressed evenly in all directions at the same time, and the ejector is used to push out the green body from the mold.

Isostatic presses are based on the Pascal principle and are used to form various powder products under ultra-high pressure. Good uniformity in all directions. It has high performance requirements and complex shapes but has good results. The equipment uses oil, water or gas as the working medium and applies the same ultra-high pressure to all surfaces of the object. It has the advantages of high density, uniformity, uniform sintering shrinkage, and easy processing. It is of high quality and complex in shape. The pressing effect is good, and the green body density is high and uniform. The sintering shrinkage rate is small, the mold cost is low, and the production efficiency is high.
