Isostatic Pressing Process

DESCRIPTION

Isostatic Pressing Process

Isostatic pressing is to place the specimen to be pressed in a high-pressure vessel, and apply uniform pressure to the specimen from all directions by using the incompressible nature of the liquid medium and the property of uniform pressure transfer. When the liquid medium is injected into the pressure vessel through the pressure pump, the pressure is constant and evenly transferred to all directions according to the principle of fluid mechanics. At this time, the pressure on the powder in the high-pressure vessel in all directions is uniform and the size is consistent. The method of forming dense billet from poor powder by the above method is called isostatic pressing method.

1. Powder pretreatment: The isostatic pressing process of barren powder also needs to pretreat the powder, improve the fluidity of the powder through the granulation process, add binders and lubricants to reduce the internal friction of the powder and improve the bonding strength, so that it can meet the needs of the molding process.

2. Molding process, including loading, pressure, pressure holding, pressure relief and other processes. The loading should try to make the powder evenly filled in the mold to avoid the existence of pores; The pressure should be stable, the pressure speed is appropriate; According to the different powder and body shape, select the appropriate pressure and holding time; At the same time, select the appropriate pressure relief speed.

3. Forming mold, isostatic pressure has special requirements for forming mold, including sufficient elasticity and conformal ability; It has high tensile and crack strength and wear resistance. Good corrosion resistance, no chemical reaction with the medium; Good demoulding performance; Low price, long service life. Generally, wet isostatic pressing mostly uses rubber molds, and dry isostatic pressing mostly uses polyurethane, polyvinyl chloride and other materials.
