    CIP, cold isostatic pressing, is one of the material processing methods. It utilizes the principle that "changes in pressure of a closed incompressible fluid are transmitted unabated to every part of the fluid and the surface of its container". Proposed by French scientist Blaise Pascal.

    Dry bag isostatic pressing is a cold isostatic pressing method in which a flexible soft bag containing powder or green compact is fixed in a pressure vessel. The dry bag isostatic pressing mold is not immersed in the liquid medium, and the dry bag is fixed in the cylinder. The high-pressure liquid medium is injected into the container to generate pressure so that the powder in the soft bag is evenly pressed. After the pressing is stopped, the briquette can be taken out from the mold bag, which remains in the container for multiple uses. The production cycle of this process is short, the productivity is high, it is easy to realize automation, and the mold life is long. It is generally used for mass production of cermet products, such as spark plugs. The highly automated dry belt press opens up a wide range of applications for the isostatic pressing of metal powders with its fast and economical output.

 

    Wet bag isostatic pressing is a cold isostatic pressing method in which flexible soft bags containing powder or compacts are immersed in a pressure transfer fluid. Put the mold sleeve filled with powder and sealed into the pressure vessel, so that it is completely immersed in the pressure medium and subjected to the uniform pressing of the high-pressure liquid. The characteristic of wet bag isostatic pressing is that it can simultaneously press products of various shapes in the same pressure vessel. The mold has a long service life and low cost; but the production cycle is long, and the time for loading and demoulding is long, so it is suitable for pressing large-scale, complex-shaped, and small-scale production products.
