Carbide Forming Method

1. Extrusion forming
The advantages of carbide bar extrusion process are that the length of the bar is not limited by forming in principle and the longitudinal density is uniform. Strong production continuity, high forming efficiency, simple equipment, easy to operate.
2. Isostatic pressing forming
2.1 Pressure cutting method
The ground and sifted carbide powder is pressed into blocks and then treated with cold isostatic pressure before subsequent processing. In this process, only a small amount of plasticizer, such as paraffin, polyethanol and so on. If the cold isostatic pressure is high enough (400MPa), the binder may not even be added. The surface of the bar formed by this method is very rough, and it must be ground and turned before the finished product.
2. 2 Wet bag method
The mold is under uniform pressure in high pressure liquid (about 200MPa). The size of the specimen is limited by the mold cavity, so it is not suitable for mass production. It is mainly used for large-diameter bars
2. 3 Dry bag method
It uses different fluids as the pressure transfer medium, the mold is semi-fixed, the billet adding and taking out are operated in the dry state. High degree of automation, short operation cycle, suitable for batch molding. The length of the rod formed by this method is longer than that of the mechanical molding method (up to 400mm), and a small amount (1% to 1.5%) of paraffin wax or polyvinyl alcohol is used during molding.
