Dry-bag isostatic pressing
Isostatic pressure forming method according to PASCAL's principle developed a new type of powder forming and consolidation technology, the use of liquid medium incompressibility and uniform transfer of pressure of a forming method. PASCAL's principle is also known as the static pressure transfer principle, which means that the pressure applied to the liquid in the sealed chamber can be transferred in all directions with constant magnitude. The mold filled with powder is placed in a high-pressure vessel. The mold becomes very soft under high pressure, like water, and the pressure is the same as that of still water at the same depth.
What is dry bag isostatic pressure
Dry bag isostatic pressing is the process of filling a flexible preformed die with ceramic powder in batches and then applying isostatic pressing. Since the die is fixed to the device, the formed product is pushed out when the pressing is complete.
Dry bag isostatic pressing has short molding cycle and long service life, which is especially convenient for large-scale continuous chemical industry production. The mold material used is polyurethane synthetic rubber or silicone rubber. Compared with wet bag type isostatic pressing, dry bag type isostatic pressure is lower, generally within 200MPa. The most familiar ceramic spark plug is currently formed by dry bag type isostatic pressing, pressing time is usually only 1~2s.
Dry bag isostatic pressure characteristics
1. Double-bag or three-bag system: It is composed of a main bag, an intermediate bag (without this intermediate bag in double-bag) and a material bag (charging mold). The main bag and the intermediate bag are fixed in the cylinder. After the powder is loaded into the bag, it is put into the middle bag and pressurized. After forming, it is taken out of the cylinder block by the piston. The addition and removal of billet and the entry and exit of bag are carried out in the dry state, and the bag does not directly contact with the liquid medium in the whole process, so it is called dry bag molding.
2, Forming billet quality is better: pressed billet straightness is good, higher finish.
3, High utilization rate of powder: compact size is easier to control, small tolerance size.
4, Short production cycle: powder without prepressing, pressing can be sintered, no additives or only a small amount.
