Main description:

Isostatic molding method, also called hydrostatic molding, is a molding method that uses the incompressibility of liquid medium and uniformity of pressure transmission. In other words, the pressure on the specimen in the high-pressure container is the same as the pressure on the static water at the same depth, so it is called hydrostatic pressure or hydrostatic pressure, and the molding process obtained according to this principle is called hydrostatic molding or isostatic molding. Generally, isostatic pressing of ceramic materials can be divided into wet bag method isostatic pressing and dry bag method isostatic pressing.

DESCRIPTION

Isostatic Pressing Process

Isostatic molding method, also called hydrostatic molding, is a molding method that uses the incompressibility of liquid medium and uniformity of pressure transmission. In other words, the pressure on the specimen in the high-pressure container is the same as the pressure on the static water at the same depth, so it is called hydrostatic pressure or hydrostatic pressure, and the molding process obtained according to this principle is called hydrostatic molding or isostatic molding. Generally, isostatic pressing of ceramic materials can be divided into wet bag method isostatic pressing and dry bag method isostatic pressing.

Wet bag method isostatic pressing is to put the powder into the molding mold (i.e., bag sleeve) first, and then placed in a high-pressure cylinder for pressing after sealing. In the pressing process, the bag sleeve is completely immersed in liquid, and direct contact with the pressure transfer medium. Wet bag method isostatic pressing is highly applicable, especially suitable for experimental research and small batch production, and can be simultaneously pressed in a high-pressure cylinder more than two different shapes of parts and the production of large and complex shapes of parts, short production process and low cost.

Dry bag method isostatic molding, is the powder is loaded into the molding rubber mold, put together into the pressurized rubber mold, or the powder from above through the feed hopper, sent to the pressurized rubber mold, molding rubber mold is not in contact with the liquid medium, so called the dry bag method. This method can achieve continuous operation, open the top cover, fill the material from the hopper, then cover the top cover and pressurize the molding. When the blanks are discharged, the top cover is opened and the blanks are lifted out from the top by the top bar at the bottom. The dry bag method is highly automatic and has a short operation cycle, which is suitable for mass production, but the size and shape of the molded products are limited because the pressurized rubber mold is not easily changed frequently.

Compared with the dry-pressure molding method, the most important feature of the isostatic molding method is that the powder material is under three-way compressive stress, and thus the performance and quality of the molded parts are significantly improved.
