1. Advantages of Cold Isostatic Pressing

In comparison with conventional unidirectional die compactioncold isostatic compaction has the following advantages:

Cold isostatic pressing can give

(1) compacts with uniform densityrelatively free from cracksstrains and laminations caused by residual stresses.

(2) reproducible density in compacts enabling better control of dimensions after sintering.

(3) higher green strength,allowing better handling and machining.
