Cold Isostatic Pressing
Categories: CIP bags, CIP mold
Application: Cold Isostatic Pressing
InquiryMain description:
In cold isostatic pressing (CIP), the metal powder is placed in a flexible rubber mold typically made of neoprene rubber, urethane, polyvinyl chloride, or another elastomer . The assembly then is pressurized hydrostatically in a chamber, usually using water. The most common pressure is 400 MPa, although pressures of up to 1000 MPa may be used. The ranges for CIP and other compacting methods in terms of the size and complexity of a part are shown in Fig. A typical application is automotive cylinder liners.
