What’s the dry-bag isostatic press
Dry-bag isostatic press seals the working medium inside the flexible dry bag, the formed mould is located inside dry bag, there is no liquid between dry bag and formed mould. After the powder is formed, dry-bag isostatic press could unload mould automatically. Nevertheless, the wet-bag isostatic press put the rubber mould inside the working medium, after pressing, take out the rubber mould, open mould by manpower, and take out workpieces.
The dry-bag process has advantages over the wet-bag process. The operation of placing the mold in the pressure vessel has been eliminated. Sealing and unsealing of the mold and the pressure vessel have been reduced to just sealing and unsealing the mold. In addition to cycle time reduction, the risk of contamination of the preform with the pressurization fluid has been eliminated. The dry-bag process can be automated and is an excellent method for the large-scale production of parts. The disadvantage of this process is the large cost differential of the dry-bag and the wet-bag mold assemblies. Dry-bag molds must be able to withstand high pressure and in effect act as a pressure vessel.
