      Isostatic pressing is to place the sample to be pressed in a high-pressure container, and use the incompressible nature of the liquid medium and the property of uniformly transmitting pressure to uniformly pressurize the sample from all directions. When the liquid medium is injected into the pressure vessel through a pressure pump , according to the principle of fluid mechanics, its pressure is constant and uniformly transmitted to all directions. At this time, the pressure of the powder in the high-pressure container in all directions is uniform and consistent in size. The method of forming a dense body from barren powder by the above method is called isostatic pressing.

Characteristics of isostatic pressing process

1. Using isostatic pressing to machine the blank, the density of the blank is high and uniform, the firing shrinkage is small, and it is not easy to deform.

2. It can form slender rod-shaped or tubular green compacts that are difficult to prepare by conventional mass-pressing process.

3. The product has high strength and good machinability, which can greatly reduce the internal stress.

4. The mold is easy to make, has long service life and relatively low cost.

5. It can form large-sized blanks, and each cylinder can press multiple blanks.
