Isostatic Pressing Bags
Isostatic pressing is to place the sample to be pressed in a high-pressure container, and use the incompressible properties of the liquid medium and the properties of uniform pressure transmission to uniformly pressurize the sample from all directions. When the liquid medium is injected into the pressure vessel through the pressure pump , according to the principles of fluid mechanics, its pressure is constant and uniformly transmitted to all directions. At this time, the pressure on the powder in the high-pressure container is uniform and consistent in all directions. The method of forming a dense body from barren powder through the above method is called isostatic pressing.
During isostatic pressing, the pressure transmitted by the liquid medium is equal in all directions. The deformation of the elastic mold when it is under the pressure of the liquid medium is transmitted to the powder in the mold. The friction between the powder and the mold wall is small, the force on the green body is uniform, the density distribution is uniform, and the product performance is greatly improved.
Wet isostatic pressing
The pre-pressed blank is wrapped in an elastic plastic or rubber mold, sealed and put into a high-pressure cylinder, and the blank is pressed and formed by liquid transfer.
Dry isostatic pressing
The elastic mold is semi-fixed, not immersed in the liquid medium, but sealed by the upper and lower pistons. The pressure pump injects the liquid medium between the high-pressure cylinder and the pressurized rubber, and the pressure is transmitted through the liquid and the pressurized rubber to form the green body under pressure.
Generalized isostatic pressing is also divided into cold isostatic pressing and hot isostatic pressing. Cold isostatic pressing is an isostatic pressing method for forming workpieces at room temperature. Hot isostatic pressing is a special sintering method that refers to the isostatic molding and sintering of workpieces under high temperature and high pressure. Hot isostatic pressing is mainly used in the molding of high-performance powder material products, such as industrial production of powder metallurgy superalloys, powder metallurgy high-speed steel, ceramic materials, etc.
