Isostatic Pressing molding of Ceramic


Isostatic pressure forming, also known as static pressure forming, is a kind of forming method using the incompressibility of the liquid medium and the uniform transfer of pressure. That is, the pressure of the sample in the high-pressure vessel is as high as the hydrostatic pressure at the same depth, so it is called hydrostatic pressure or hydrostatic pressure.

 

The precision zirconia ceramic molding process based on this principle is called hydrostatic molding or isostatic pressing. Generally, isostatic pressing of ceramic materials can be divided into wet bag isostatic pressing and dry bag isostatic pressing.

 

Wet-bag isostatic pressing is the process of placing powder into a molding mold, sealing it, and then pressing it in a high-pressure cylinder. During the pressing process, the jacket is completely immersed in the liquid and is in direct contact with the pressure transfer medium.

 

Wet-bag isostatic pressing method has strong applicability, especially suitable for experimental research and small batch production. Can be pressed at the same time more than two different shapes of parts, in the high pressure cylinder production of large complex parts, production process is short, low cost.

 

Dry bag isostatic molding is to put powder into the forming rubber mold, and then together into the pressure rubber mold, or the powder from above through the hopper into the pressure rubber mold. The rubber mold is not in contact with the liquid medium, so it is called dry bag method.

 

This method can achieve continuous operation, open the top cover, load the material from the hopper, and then cover the top cover, press molding. When the billet is discharged, the top cover is opened and the billet is ejected from the top through the bottom ejector rod.

 

Dry bag method has high degree of automation and short operation cycle, which is suitable for mass production. However, the size and shape of molded products are limited by the fact that pressurized rubber molds are not easily replaced frequently.
