Isostatic Pressing Technology
Isostatic pressing is to place the object to be processed in a closed container filled with liquid, and gradually pressurize through the pressurization system to apply equal pressure to each surface of the object, so that the molecules can be reduced without changing the appearance shape. The distance between them increases the density and improves the physical properties of the substance.
Isostatic pressing (isostatic pressing) is a technique in the field of powder metallurgy with a history of more than 90 years. The actual meaning of the term isostatic pressure refers to the state of applying equal pressure to the surface-enclosed material at the same time in all directions. According to Pascal's principle, in a closed container, the static pressure generated by the external force acting on the static liquid or gas will be transmitted uniformly in all directions, and the pressure on the surface it acts on is proportional to the surface area . The traditional powder metallurgy method uses mechanical pressure forming technology, which has problems such as uneven pressure and uneven product performance. The advent of isostatic pressing has opened up new avenues for avoiding these problems and making products with better properties. In modern industrial production, isostatic pressing technology is mainly used for the forming and consolidation of powder. With the increasing scope of application and the continuous improvement of functions and economic benefits, isostatic pressing technology has begun to receive more and more attention.
Isostatic pressing technology is usually divided into cold isostatic pressing according to the temperature of its forming and consolidation.
(cold isostatic pressing, CIP), warm isostatic pressing (warm isostatic pressing, WIP) and hot isostatic pressing (hotisostatic pressing, HIP). Due to the different temperatures for implementing isostatic pressing, the three isostatic pressing techniques each use corresponding equipment, pressure medium and jacket mold materials.
Cold isostatic pressing is a technology that realizes isostatic pressing at room temperature. Usually, rubber or plastic is used as the mold material, and liquid or elastomer (plastic, rubber, etc.) is used as the pressure medium. When the pressure medium is liquid, it is called hydroisostatic pressure. Among them, the water containing antirust agent as the pressure medium is called water isostatic pressure, and the oil is called oil isostatic pressure as the pressure medium. When the pressure medium is an elastic body (such as plastic, rubber, etc.), it is called balanced pressing, soft mold pressing or thick-wall mold pressing.
